Chaparral Kennel Club's recent three day Agility Trial was a great success. The weather threw us a curve on Saturday with a nasty hail storm but fortunately the skies cleared and the trial went on as planned.

We saw some fantastic runs by very talented dogs and their equally talented handlers. Exhibitors joined us from around the state as well as Texas, Arizona and Oklahoma. Dogs ranged in size from diminutive Papillons to giant Great Danes. Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Terriers, Poodles, Rottweilers, Belgian Tervurens and Cocker Spaniels represented some of the numerous breeds turning in great performances. Several awesome "All Americans" rounded out the entries as well.

Thanks to all our members and volunteers who made the weekend a success. It takes everyone chipping in to put it all together and make things run smoothly. We have a wonderful group of members, exhibitors and friends that make it fun for everyone.

Thank you all and congratulations to those with qualifying runs and those that gave it their best!

April Agility Trial
Herding Dogs!
Several of our members and their dogs participated in a local herding clinic hosted by the Mesquite Australian Shepherd Club with clinician Cappy Pruett from Colorado. Cappy is an internationally known herding judge, trainer, and exhibitor, that comes to our area twice annually to hold clinics.

Everyone, from newbie to hardened exhibitor, had an informative and fun time. We can't wait till the fall when we get to do it all over again!
